6 Week Welding Program - Winter 2024 - Plympton, MA

This is a 6 week welding course hosted in Plympton, MA

Runs Wednesday Evenings starting February 28, 2024 until April 3, 2024

Wednesday Evenings 2/28, 3/6, 3/13, 3/20, 3/27, 4/3

6 p.m. - 9 p.m. every Wednesday

Cost: $550, includes materials and PPE

Woman And Machine is holding a beginner 6 week welding program on Wednesday nights starting February 28th from 6 p.m - 9 p.m. at Karen Sullivan’s home shop in Plympton.

To give our participants the most amount of ‘rod time’, we can accept a maximum of 6 students. This is a Co-Ed Program so both ladies and gentlemen are welcome to attend!

We will cover various aspects of MIG welding over the course of the program with about 1 hour dedicated to classroom time to review more in-depth information about setting the welder appropriately, basics of fabrication, small weld projects, etc. Come ready to learn and weld!

What You Will Learn:

Safety for welders

Basics of welding and various components of the welder

How to properly set-up a welder

Welding steel in the Flat, Horizontal, Vertical, Overhead

Proper techniques for welding "tee", "lap", "corner", and "butt" joints

Welding defects; causes and cures

Important:

Please arrive at least 15 minutes early so we can start promptly at the designated time.

We will provide safety gear (welding jacket, gloves, hood) *but if you have your own gear feel free to bring it to the class!

*For this program I do highly suggest that you purchase your own hood and gloves but is not necessary to come to class.

Wear work boots (steel toe are preferable), a pair of jeans that you do not mind getting dirty, and a 100% cotton shirt (this is all for your safety and protection, if you are not dressed appropriately you will not be able to participate in the class)

If you have medium to long hair, bring a hair tie to pull your hair back or already have your hair tied back.
